Author Archives: Monica Campbell

Monica is an award-winning bilingual, multiplatform journalist with 20-plus years of global reporting and editing experience. She spent nearly a decade as a senior reporter and editor at the public radio program, The World, where she focused on covering immigration and immigrant life in the United States. Her media experience also includes conceptualizing and launching new editorial projects, leading efforts to diversify staff, training incarcerated journalists at San Quentin State Prison’s journalism program, and mentoring employees to do their best work. As Collaborations Editor, she develops the strategy, structure, and implementation of media partnerships to ensure that El Tímpano’s community-powered journalism reaches wide and diverse audiences.
