    Gabriela is with El Tímpano as a California Local News Fellow, focusing her reporting on South Alameda County. Gabriela is a proud Latine journalist, born and raised in the East Bay. She graduated in 2025 from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Political Science—two passions she holds close to her heart. During their spare time, she enjoys going out with friends, attending concerts and learning new things. As a daughter of Mexican immigrants, Gabriela hopes her work amplifies the voices of the communities she covers and cares about.
